We are proud to celebrate our Chair, Dr Anne Poelina, who has been named a Fuller Water Defender for 2026

As a Traditional Custodian, academic and lifelong defender of the Martuwarra Fitzroy River, Anne carries the knowledge and voices of our river communities into spaces where decisions about water and Country are made.

Across the world, women are leading the protection, care and management of water, yet their voices are too often missing from decision-making.

The Fuller Project is shining a light on 17 water defenders working to change this https://www.fullerproject.org/editions/without-water/fuller-water-defenders-2026/.
